Who we are
BarnWise (barn-wise.com) publishes independent metal building, pole barn, and barndominium guides. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit.
What we collect
- Usage data (analytics): aggregate, non-identifying stats, pages visited, general location (country/region), device type, and how you arrived, so we know which guides are useful. We use privacy-respecting analytics and do not build advertising profiles.
- Information you give us: if you email us or join a mailing list, we receive your email address and message. We use it only to respond or to send what you signed up for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- We do not collect payment details, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for basic analytics and, when you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie to credit us for a resulting purchase (see our Affiliate Disclosure). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.
Affiliate links and third parties
Some outbound links may be affiliate or referral links. When you follow one and buy or request a quote, the seller (for example a building kit seller, a carport dealer, or a retailer such as Amazon) may record that referral to pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Those retailers have their own privacy policies governing what they collect once you're on their site. We also rely on standard third-party services for analytics and hosting, which process technical data (like your IP address) to deliver and secure the site.
The cost estimator
The building cost estimator runs entirely in your browser. The sizes, state, loads, and options you enter are not sent to us or to anyone else, are not stored, and disappear when you leave the page. We never ask for your address, phone number, or email to show an estimate.
Your choices
- Block cookies or use private browsing.
- Unsubscribe from any email we send using the link in that email.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or to delete it, by getting in touch.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
